The popular Nation in Conversation will be at Nampo Cape, Bredasdorp Park 12 – 14 September. The aim of the panel discussions is to encourage and stimulate dialogue about agriculture among stakeholders from different affiliations, political backgrounds and the business sector.
The programme starts off on Wednesday, 12 September, 09:30 – 11:00 with a conversation on creating new energy in agriculture. Theo Vorster of Galileo Capital will be the anchor presenter with panel members including Francois Strydom, Chris Burgess, Jannie de Villiers, Alan Winde and Andre Uys.
The afternoon session 14:00 – 15:30 will discuss the role of intensive livestock farming in sustainable meat production, with the focus on sheep. Vorster will lead the discussion with panel members Dr Wessels and Dr Louis du Pisani, amongst others.
On Thursday, 13 September, you can join Jannie de Villiers (CEO of Grain SA) and panel members Josh Hamman, Ernest Pelser, RD Erasmus and Gert Claassen for a discussion on the future of the barley industry for all stakeholders.
Theo Vorster will lead the 14:00 – 15:30 discussion on education and educational institutions in agriculture: Consolidation or Speciality? He will be joined by a panel including Andre Latsky, Johann Kirsten and Mohammed Karan.
The discussion on Friday, 09:30 – 11:00 will focus on the Youth and the opportunities for young people to advance agriculture, despite challenges in the industry. Theo Vorster, Dirk Strydom and Jacky Goliath will, amongst others, lead the discussion.
