Bredasdorp Park is a large agricultural exhibition and expo venue in the Overberg in South Africa.
WHO ARE ARE
Bredasdorp Park is managed by Bredasdorp Park Non-Profit Company. The directors of this company are farmers, business leaders and community leaders.
Bredasdorp Park Non-profit Company (NPC) entered into an agreement with
Overberg Agri as the management entity of Bredasdorp Park. At the park a
variety of functional infrastructure, amenities and support services are offered at
a rental cost to host agriculture, business, school, church and/or family events.
Bredasdorp Park is managed and maintained professionally. Bredasdorp Park
is a well established and equally well maintained exhibition and event venue with
core facilities required to host professional events ranging from international
expos such as our flagship exhibition event partner, the annual NAMPO Cape – an
official brand name event of Grain South Africa to smaller corporate and private
events, meeting and rallies. The directors of the company represent a broad
spectrum of expertise needed to oversee this unique company.
Our Vision
To serve the agricultural sector and agricultural industries, providing services and expos that add value for all parties involved – from the producers to the service providers. This includes emerging agriculture and relevant partners.
Our Mission
To add value to the agricultural sector by providing education, development, and the transfer of information to the sector, and support to transformation projects. We achieve this through demonstration, interaction with service providers and the administration of relevant events and opportunities.
WHERE WE ARE
Bredasdorp Park is situated on a property on the outskirts of the town of
Bredasdorp. Bredasdorp Park is within easy reach via the N2 of Cape Town
International (174.1km – 2h 7m) and George Airport (282km – 2h 53m). A safe,
well-maintained and managed landing strip outside Bredasdorp makes it possible for approved private carrier flights and small aircraft to transport visitors to Bredasdorp.
How Bredasdorp Park has grown to where we are today
In 1992, a local farmer, Niel Giliomee teamed up with partners to host the first agricultural day in the Overberg. This event brought farmers together from across the district to the historic farm of Nachtwacht.
Over the years, this trade show grew – and finally set its roots on Bredasdorp Park – our exhibition venue just outside Bredasdorp.
The Park became the home of many agricultural events, sporting get-togethers and other functions in the decades that followed.
In 2017, Bredasdorp Park Non-Profit Company took over as the new managers of Bredasdorp Park (also rebranding and renaming the park). Now we continue to use the park as a platform to serve the Overberg community. We do this by working with partners and service providers – specifically in the agriculture sector.
